These are the old Web pages of the

Tewkesbury and District University of the Third Age (TU3A).

The new TU3A website launched in Jan 2010 - so this website will be phased out

These pages were to introduce you to our U3A, tell you everything we offer, inform you of the History of the U3A movement and introduce the Cotswold Link.  You can now find all this information on the new website http://www.u3asites.org.uk/tewkesbury

The Tewkesbury U3A was launched in September 1991 and now has about 750 members in the Tewkesbury area involved in all sorts of daytime activities. There are around 35 interest groups, from art workshops to musical appreciation, from language classes to garden visits. Something for everyone. Many members have moved to the recently launched Bishops Cleeve U3A - some are members of both these U3As.

Some interest groups meet weekly, others once or twice a month, in local halls or private homes, during the day. As the group operates a mutual help system, mostly without tutors, members are encouraged to take an active part in meetings.

We also have a monthly General Meeting with an invited speaker on a topic of general interest. Further details of future General Meeting talks are available on the new website www.u3asites.org.uk/tewkesbury.

As a member of the Tewkesbury & District University of the Third Age you may request to receive "Third Age News" (U3A's national newspaper) and "TUTA News" which gives details of local group activities. [The new website will have a copy of the latest TUTA News, doctored to remove personal details] You also have the opportunity to widen your horizons, make new friends, follow an interest or hobby which time or circumstances hasn't allowed before, learn something new.

Tewkesbury U3A is managed by a Committee elected at the Annual General Meeting. Details of the current Committee.

Flooding has damaged some of our venues - in particular the BBHQ. The council has delayed reparation work, because of other priorities: but our groups continue to meet elsewhere, and enjoy the meaning of U3A togetherness.
